Managing consent

Consent for vaccinations in schools

Mavis automatically sends consent requests to parents (where consent is not already in place) 3 weeks before the scheduled session date, and reminders 1 week before. You can change these dates by editing the session – see Sending consent reminders manually.

When parents complete the online consent form, Mavis automatically updates the child’s consent status.

You can also record a new consent response if a parent responds in person, on the phone or through a paper form – see Recording a new consent response. A new response from the same parent will override the previous one.

If a child has no parental consent but wants to be vaccinated, you can assess whether they are mature enough to consent to their own vaccination – see Assessing Gillick competence.

Mavis gets parent contact details from the latest cohort and class lists uploads. If a contact needs to be added or removed you can do this manually – see Editing and removing contacts.
